TALK TO SOMEONE

WHO GETS YOU.

therapy for teens & adults

in-person & online across the Texas Hill Country

Things people say:

It’s not that bad, look on the bright side, at least you have X, be thankful for Y, everything happens for a reason, you’ll get over it, time heals all wounds

Things you wish you could say:

It IS that bad, there is no bright side to this, it’s hard to be thankful when it hurts this much, and what’s the reason for THIS? Time has passed, but I’m not healed.

You think to yourself:

No one understands what I’m going through.

It feels like there are two parts of yourself:

One part is shown on the outside, seemingly “with it” and “fine,” saying to yourself, “everything is ok.” The other part is hidden on the inside, changed by something you experienced, someone you lost, or a clenching drive to do things all the way, or not at all.

You don’t feel safe, but you can’t show that you’re scared. Asking for help feels embarrassing, like you’re a burden. Life shouldn’t be this hard, right?

Eventually, there’s a fork in the road, and you know you can’t continue on the same path anymore.

You know something needs to change…

you’re just not sure HOW.

hey. i’m Gillian.

Trellis is a space where you can be fully, unapologetically you.

A trellis is a framework of interwoven parts that sustains life until it can thrive on its own. Some of those parts of our lives are our Faith, friends, family, pets. Some of those parts are what we do for fun, for work, for purpose. But all of them weave together to support us as we make our way through the days that we have here.

In essence, we all have a trellis.

This trellis doesn’t push us forward or pull us from the back of the line. It doesn’t chide fluffy platitudes or do the work for us. It simply supports us, through all conditions, until we can thrive independently.

This is also what I believe counseling should be. A trellis for your wellness, through some of life’s hardest moments and difficult seasons. I will be there to support you.

Using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Virtual-Reality Based Therapies and more, you can finally hit the play button on your life instead of feeling like things will never change because you can’t undo what’s been done. Reclaim your power, and discover a pathway of healing.

Grief is hard as hell. There’s no two ways about it. But did you know grief can be beautiful too? Whether you are anticipating loss, or are walking through life in the wake of death, you have found the place where you can speak the unspeakable.

Suicide prevention and bereavement are highly specialized areas that many professionals are either unwilling or unable to address. At Trellis, we’ll talk about it openly, without shame or stigma, and with compassion real-life experience.

Perfectionism is usually praised and seen as a desired attribute, an admirable work ethic or high achievement in school. But perfectionism can have a dark side, a shadow that is cast behind it whenever confronted with the reality of imperfect life. Intolerance of less-than, rigid “all or nothing” thinking drive behavior to grueling ends. Thankfully, perfectionism can be re-honed as healthy aspiration, an adaptive mindset, provided the right counseling skillset is applied.
